Daniel Bridge - Biography

Photography Tutor Daniel Bridge

Originally hailing from Billericay, Essex and now back again after 18 years down the road in Hutton, I have been taking photographs for many years, buying my first SLR in 1996, unfortunately after taking a two month trip to Australia, but just in time for my honeymoon! Now I'm a full-time photography tutor with 22 years experience, and a daughter as well as a wife!

Having trained as a Guitar maker at the London Guildhall University, I subsequently worked for the Fire Service and Police in admin roles, but it wasn't until I decided to concentrate fully on photography that I felt truly comfortable in my working life.

Turning professional in 2002, I originally exhibited and sold Limited Edition Prints, but as time went on I found photography tuition to be a more rewarding and enjoyable aspect to concentrate on, starting group workshops in 2003, and private tuition in 2007.

Initially working part-time for Essex Wildlife Trust too, my tuition was carried out around this work, but I turned full-time back in 2015 so that I could expand the workshops and tuition I offer.

Over the last 22 years I have tutored thousands of people, welcoming my 3,000th workshop participant in 2024. By May 2025, I had provided over 460 workshops, seen around 1,600 private tuition customers receiving over 6,000 hours of tuition, and given in excess of 250 talks and presentations.

I use Pentax cameras (see the gear listings here), and quality is very important to me; I use high-quality Pentax lenses, and will often use a tripod to ensure crisp detail and accurate focus.
